The Loveliest Lilly of the Field (Mothers Day)

Today is a day to acknowledge the blessings and superheroes God gave us!! I must say that I have the best mother on this planet she loves children, has a caring heart, helps anyone in need even if it seems crazy and impossible she is there to help knowing God will pull her through. She has raised my siblings and I in the Lord and has taught us to put others needs in front of our own. I would not be who I am today if not for her. Thanks mom I love you!

We decided to bless my mother with gifts and love on this special day just for her.

Canyon Rim Dance Classic

Canyon Rim Dance Classic... four words that can take over your life in the very best ways. It takes time, patience, practice and energy, lots of energy.our whole year of hard work comes down to these few days, the one time we get to shine in front of judges watching our every move (no pressure). But it is also the time when all our hard work pays off, a time to be with friends and enjoy the talents we have. Mauldins Dance Academy (MDA) host the event and that happens to be the dance school Mady and I attend. Our school submitted 12 dances in all two of which I was in and six (6!) of which Mady was in. So that means when I had finished my two dances early in the day, I was a runner for the rest of it... and it was amazing! I got to work behind the scenes and help the entire event take place. And what a wonderful job everyone does! Our group at MDA did such a fantastic job and I'm proud to be on their team!

A picture's worth a thousand words... here's a few

Miss Kay's Special Day

Well today is Mady's special day and she is now 12! We have put the party on hold till after competition, but we still had a celebration for my little sister on her big day.

Mady is a dancer, likes weird things and melting clocks... So I thought this key chain I made explained her well and covered everything she likes

She loved it! (and the fact that I got up at 5am to make my amazing homemade cinnamon rolls. Which were amazing if I do say so myself)
Jordan, such a great brother got her just what she wanted/needed... $20 to Flutter she was in heaven.

Headband Mania!

"You know, the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." ~Teddy Roosevelt

I have been running a small factory at my home with my sister... We are working hard making many many headbands (I'm talking like 30+) for our dance studio. In a hard days work we have made 7... that's a lot! Mady and I trade for our tuition at our dance studio, so we work hard, practice lots and are very proud and privileged to do what we love... DANCE! But even though we trade for some tuition we still have things to pay for... costume fees, competition fees, new shoes etc. So we decided we have time, talents and friends at our dance school who like cute matching things! I have set myself to hours of crocheting a fun little project that Miss Mady Kay can help me with... Headband earwarmers in Mauldins colors; red and black
Mady and I at about 7:00 am working hard :)
I crochet and Miss Mady Kay adds the buttons and flowers... and in the end this is what we get =)

Done!... for now

JB Cake...

Birthday Feelings...
Well... I had quite a fun time with this one,
1.) It was for a little girl. (I never make cakes for girls!) and
2.) A Justin Bieber cake...I know nothing about Justin Bieber. Except all my cousin wanted was her and JB on a pink and purple cake so I took on the challenge! After some Photoshop work with my brother, 4 hours of fondant work, and cutting out a lot of stars... I finished with this! =*D
I finished with this!

Cherry Tree Pruning

After a fabulous breakfast with amazing friends, and a chapter of The Magicians Nephew our crazy family went to our friends house to prune their cherry tree (in return we get yummy cherries). We had a day filled with chainsaws, falling branches, stick fights, knives, small handsaws, and Miss Mady Kay with a pointy stick... see where I'm going. My dad watched some videos and read some books on pruning trees, and then we were off! When we arrived we got out all the sharp pointy objects we had brought to help us in taking down this tree.

Now we are ready to start! Dad explains that he will teach us what to do, as soon as he figures out  what he's doing...

Jordan: Ok that one...
Dad: No that one...
Me:(in my head) Ok I'm lost...

As we continue dad prepares us to take down a large tree limb.

This branch was quite stubborn
and insisted to stay in the tree.

But we won =*)

And Mady Kay... Well all she wanted to do was play with all the sharp tools. So she proceeded to make that sharp stick I told you about, a "bow" and "arrows", and saw the tree into small pieces...

Then after about two hours the parents slowly lost us to our wandering minds...
(See who knows what evil plans he has for our poor dog!)
And here I am wishing everyone love after I became bored of cutting our friends tree in to pieces!**

** (see dad in background with big knife, this picture was taken just before a big branch lands right behind me...)

Long boarding...

"I woke up with my lovely battle wound on my face. "
One of my new favorite pass times is long boarding. So yesterday Rainbow and I were riding around at the City Park, as we always do, when all of a sudden a pesky little rock hits that perfect spot to make my board stop in its tracks! And as we all know an object in motion usually stays in motion... in this story I AM THE OBJECT! So here I go head over heals to high five the cement with my face. O.o If caught on camera and put in slow motion... it would go something like this... board stops, she tries to catch herself, one hand... the other... FACE!! Now there proceeds to be a slight freak-out moment made by Rainbow and some random passer bys. I proceed to tell everyone I'm fine and they slowly wander away... Rainbow continues to babble on in short sentences some where along the lines of "are you sure your ok?!?" "You totally just hit your face!!" "I think you'll have a bruise..." The last comment she made proceeded to be true. After icing it all night, I woke up with my lovely battle wound on my face. =*D All's well that ends well!
